TACT names new leader | News

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A local children's theater group has a new artistic director.

Thalian Association named Jason Aycock to the position for the company's children's theater division.

Aycock has been a dancer and performer all his life, having grown up in his mother's dance studio, Cripple Creek Corner, in Burgaw. He has trained in tap, clogging, jazz, hip hop and theater dance.

Aycock received a BFA in musical theater from Mars Hill College and directed, choreographed and acted in more than 55 productions.

His most recent credits include co-directing Legally Blonde and assistant directing Hello Dolly, both for Opera House Theatre Company.

Thalian Association Children's Theater (TACT) presents five full productions every year with performers ages seven through high school senior. TACT Academy also offers classes in theater education.
