Taxable sales, number of building permits up in Pender County

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The amount of taxable sales and the number of building permits issued have increased in Pender County

County Manager Mikey Duvall reported that the total taxable sales increased by $22,766,749 in the fiscal year ending on 6/30/12 compared to the fiscal year ending on 6/30/11. That is an increase of 8.6 percent.

There were also 371 building permits issued from January 2012 through July 2012, compared to 330 in 2011. That is an increase of 12.4 percent.

Stoney Brook Nursery Farm to be auctioned on April 5

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The Stoney Brook Nursey Farm, located at 5626 Willard Road, will be auctioned on Tuesday, April 5 at noon.

Johnson Properties Realtors & Auctioneers, Inc. announced the sale on its website.

The farm is reportedly a 12,800 head capacity swine nursery facility that was established in 1995. There is just over 81 acres of land, according to the website.
